KUMOMI FILM is a Chicago-based film lab offering C-41 film development, premium film scanning, and develop + scan services for 35mm and 120 film.

1. Information Kumomi Film Collects
Kumomi Film may collect information you provide when you place an order, contact the lab, submit film, or use the website. This may include:
Customer name
Email address
Phone number, if provided
Billing and mailing addresses
Order number and order details
Film format and selected services
Mail-In or Local Drop-Off selection
Negative return preference
Customer notes or special instructions
Communications sent to Kumomi Film
Shipping origin address

2. Payment Information
Payments are processed through payment-processing services made available through Squarespace. Kumomi Film does not directly store complete payment card numbers. Payment information is processed by third-party payment processors made available through Squarespace.
3. How Customer Information Is Used
Information may be used to process and manage orders, match submitted film to the correct order, communicate order updates, deliver scans, create and email optional shipping labels, monitor shipment tracking, arrange negative returns, provide customer support, prevent fraud or misuse, maintain necessary business and transaction records, and comply with legal requirements.
4. Film Photographs and Customer Images
Customers retain ownership of photographs and images contained on film submitted to Kumomi Film. Customer photographs and scans are used only as necessary to provide the requested processing and scanning services. Kumomi Film will not use customer photographs for advertising, social media, portfolio use, or other promotional purposes without the customer’s permission.
5. Digital Scan Delivery
Finished scans may be delivered through WeTransfer using the email address associated with your order. WeTransfer download links are generally available for 30 days. Customers are responsible for downloading and securely backing up their files. Kumomi Film does not guarantee permanent digital storage.
6. Service Providers
Kumomi Film may use third-party service providers necessary to operate the business, including Squarespace for the website, commerce, and order management; payment processors made available through Squarespace; WeTransfer for digital scan delivery; Google Workspace for business email and communications; and USPS, UPS, or shipping-label providers for optional inbound labels, package tracking, and negative-return shipping. These providers may process information only as reasonably necessary to provide their respective services.
7. Sharing of Personal Information
Kumomi Film does not sell customer personal information. Information may be shared only when reasonably necessary to provide requested services, operate the business, comply with law, prevent fraud or misuse, or protect the rights and safety of Kumomi Film and its customers.
8. Cookies and Website Analytics
The Kumomi Film website may use cookies and similar technologies provided by Squarespace and related services for website functionality, security, analytics, and understanding site usage. This policy does not claim the use of advertising-tracking systems.
9. Data Retention
Order and customer information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for customer support, accounting, recordkeeping, legal compliance, dispute resolution, and operation of the business. Digital scan files are not guaranteed to be stored permanently by Kumomi Film.
10. Information Security
Kumomi Film takes reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect customer information. However, no website, email system, storage system, or internet transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
11. Customer Privacy Requests
